We couldn’t have asked for anything more.  We have stayed in several different resorts on three Hawaiian islands, and the KBH is definitely our favorite.

Art, Louise, Lauren and Bradley (San Francisco, CA)

I loved being able to learn so much about the Hawaiian culture and I enjoyed doing traditional Hawaiian activities, such as learning the hula, lau printing, and lei making, with my mom.  It was so much fun!  At the very end, the kukui nut lei ceremony was very touching and I felt ecstatic about becoming part of such a loving family. I would definitely love to go back. This was one of the best trips to Hawaii I have ever taken.

Cesar (Sydney)
KBH has a great sense of service and achievement which has no parallel with any other hotel.

Kari (Oakland, CA)
My daughter reminds us that we need to return only twenty more times to have all white nuts on her kukui nut lei.

William & Kim (Abingdon, Maryland)

The staff's  genuine  friendliness  and  the  beauty  of  your  hotel  were  some  of  the  highlights  to  our  memorable trip to  Maui.  From  the  welcome  breakfast  to  the  farewell  ceremony,  we  were  treated  like  royalty.

Barbara (Lakewood, CA)
KBH is my very favorite hotel -- it is truly the most Hawaiian.  We were thrilled to see Malihini (who taught all of us the hula 8 years ago) was still there and is as warm and friendly as ever.  She made the last day's kukui nut lei ceremony so interesting and sentimental.

Greg & Carol (Las Vegas, Nevada)
The warmth displayed by the staff seemed to be contagious as the guests were all exchanging smiles and “Alohas” too.  Although we rented a car, we could have happily spent the entire week without ever leaving the hotel.

Tom & Cheryl, (Ontario, Canada)
When we told one friend we were going back to Maui, she said "Do I even have to ask where you're staying?"  She knew from a personal experience that this is just the best vacation hotel on Maui.  The Kaanapali Beach Hotel is our "Maui".

Bryan, Destiny, and Braydon (Groton, CT)
There were at least a couple hundred other guests there and they knew us by our first name and treated everyone like family.

Bruce James  (Toronto Canada)

I must confess that I had a tear in my eye when we hugged and said our good-byes this year.  You don't expect, and certainly would not get, that feeling when leaving a name brand chain hotel.  It was this special treatment and feeling of being "home" that Malihini, and the other staff at KBH demonstrated, that made leaving so hard - and the desire to return so strong.

Joshua & April (Bloomington, IL)
The staff at the hotel made us feel like we found a home away from home.

Ron and Joyce (Orlando, FL)
After being “just another number” at the other hotels, we became Number 1 at the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel!

Marty and Terese (Prosper, Texas)
We stayed in another property during our visit to Maui, but would come back to KBH over this other (very upscale) property every time.

Mark and Patty (Parma, Ohio)
I can’t imagine going to Maui and not visiting my family at the KBH.  Everyone was so helpful and we learned so much about the Hawaiian culture.  For the first time in my life, I had tears in my eyes when it was time to leave.

Daine & Nikki (Bellair, Ohio)
Our friends are so excited about what we have told them; they, too, can't wait to go.

Terry & Mary (Logan, Iowa)
When I think of our tropical Hawaiian vacation I think of you.

Steven and Marianne (Escondido, CA)
We appreciate so much the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel.

Garnett Family (Penticton, BC, Canada)
We wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's the best place for kids of all ages!

Joyce and Kurt (Apopka, Florida)
I highly recommend KBH if you want to feel you are truly in Hawaii.

Roger and Donna (Drexel Hill, PA)
Thank you, KBH, for taking such good care of us while we were there.  We'll see you again soon!!

Christian and Carol (Kissimme, FL)
The next time we go to Maui...we will be returning to our family at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel!

Cynthia, Rafael and children Maria, Emilio, and Kiko (Lake Oswego Oregon)
The set-up was ideal for a family with young kids who finds true relaxation a challenge. The staff was warm and genuine and taught us a lot about Hawaiian culture, making it a very special experience. We will definitely be back. We recommend your hotel with great enthusiasm.

Mike & Georgia (St. Cloud, Minnesota)
The location is incredible, so close to Black Rock where the snorkeling is great and to the shopping village.  Kaanapali Beach is one of our favorite beaches and the hotel’s nightly show was traditional and a lot of fun.

Bonnie (Anchorage, AK)
My stay at KBH was most pleasant!  All the staff we encountered greeted us with friendly smiles, "alohas", and a level of attention and hospitality that was truly incredible.  The staff makes you feel as if you're part of the KBH family and ensure your stay is as enjoyable as it is memorable.

Although I've been to Maui several times this was my first time at the KBH.  It will not be my last.  This hotel has all the amenities we were looking for as well as a great location.  More than that though, many of the staff members are ethnic Hawaiians or are Hawaiian residents who have lived in this beautiful state long enough to know about Hawaiian culture, and they appear pleased to share this cultural information with those of us who are eager to learn more about these very special people and these beautiful islands.

I was very touched by the kukui nut lei ceremony on the day we had to leave for home.  I know of no other hotel or resort that goes to such lengths to bring us all together as one family no matter who we are or where we're from.  Malihini, a guest service agent, conducted the ceremony on the day we left.  Her explanation as to its meaning and how it started, as well as the significance of the kukui nuts to the Hawaiian people was most enlightening and added an extra layer of richness to my whole experience at the KBH.  In fact, I would like to send a special mahalo to Malihini for the hospitality she extended to us during our stay as well as for her beautiful interpretation of the hula she danced at the welcome breakfast we attended shortly after our arrival.

Renee & Tony (Oregon)
We were first introduced to Kaanapali Beach Hotel back in 1997 when we were married on a private beach in Maui.  The atmosphere was absolutely perfect, and the staff became like family.  We came back five years later to celebrate our anniversary in 2002 and were introduced to the Lei Aloha greeting.  It was so touching for us to be a part of this new tradition of KBH because it was truly like coming home.  Now, on our 10 year anniversary, we are returning once again in just a few short weeks.  We are looking forward to reliving the experience and enjoying the beauty of the grounds and entertainment.  Returning to Kaanapali Beach Hotel is truly a dream come true, and remains in our hearts always.

Bruce, Donna and Angela (Toronto, Canada)
Kaanapali Beach Hotel – Your Home Away From Home

Our family has just returned home (sadly) following our second year in a row, two-week stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel (KBH). We stayed from July 7 to July 22, 2007.

My wife, daughter and I cannot express enough the warmth and special friendship all of the staff gave us once again during our stay at KBH this year. When we think of the number of people that pass through the “doors” of the KBH, for the staff to remember us from a year ago, and after a while to call us by name, was truly special and we must admit, unfortunately, so very unique in the world today. Each of us had a tear in our eyes when we hugged and said our good-byes this year and you don't expect, and certainly would not get, that feeling leaving an impersonal name brand chain hotel. It was this special treatment and feeling of being "home" that all of the staff at KBH demonstrated, that made leaving so hard - and the desire to return so strong.

During our stay we had the opportunity to walk along the boardwalk in front of the KBH and to visit the other hotels along the Kaanapali Beach waterfront. While others have larger pools and more elegant buildings, none has the charm or green space that the KBH has. We stayed in the Molokai wing – the older section which was quaint – and visited the newer wings (Maui and Lanai) which may appeal to those looking for more modern accommodation. The location of the hotel is convenient to all of the amenities of Kaanapali – Black Rock for snorkeling, Whalers Village for shopping and restaurants, and two golf courses only minutes away!

However, the real selling point of KBH, and we must admit the one feature that can only be understood by those who have stayed there, is the hospitality and warmth you get from the people there – from the time you check-in at the front desk or while you dine at one of the many eating establishments on-site (all casual, relaxed and very family friendly); at the guest services desk, where new “friends” are always there to help you maximize your Hawaiian experience during your stay; and finally to the housekeeping staff, who ensure that your room is made up during the day, and that your bed is turned down at night, with your Macadamia cookie treat waiting for you on your pillow.

Our family is looking forward to staying at the KBH next year and for all our return trips to Maui. We treasure the opportunity to reconnect with many of the staff there who have become very special people in our lives, in particular with Malihini of guest services, who has become a treasured “Auntie” to our ten-year old daughter.

If you are planning a trip to Maui and are looking for a place to combine the convenience of location and reasonable price with a hotel experience that is something other than a cold and corporate place to stay, where your are always made to feel like a treasured guest, then our family encourages you to choose the Ka’anapali Beach Hotel for your stay. To use the language of the Islands, it is more of an "Ohana" (family) feeling when you stay at the KBH! We would highly recommend the KBH to our Ohana and friends alike, or to anyone else who is looking for a “touch of home” combined with the culture and adventure that a stay in Hawaii, and especially Maui and Kaanapali in particular, has to offer!

Billy (Castle Hayne, NC)
This was our first time to Hawaii and I really wanted it to be trouble free. I could not have asked for more when it came to our hotel choice. Kaanapali Beach Hotel was a great place to stay. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the location was fantastic and my wife and daughter enjoyed the free classes. The little gifts throughout the week were a nice surprise. I can honestly say that I wouldn't bother looking around for a place to stay when we return (and we will), we've found our Maui lodging.

Jim, Helen, and Sofie (Seattle, WA)
We have just returned from a wonderful vacation at KBH. For anyone with young children, this is the place to stay. It is truly a family hotel in every way. We loved our ground floor garden room, which allowed our daughter to explore and afforded views of Black Rock, as well as easy access to the beach. The staff members are all delightful and friendly, and we were thrilled with the immersion into Hawaiian culture. The hula lesson is a blast and when our daughter is older, I can’t wait for her to take all the Hawaiian cultural classes that are offered. The welcome breakfast and farewell ceremony are wonderful and memorable touches that demonstrate how unique this hotel is. A very special “Mahalo” to Mikala for his knowledge of island activities and his fabulous recommendations. We will definitely return. Thank you so much.

Photo is Sofie in the whale pool (one of her favorite things to do on Maui!)

Robyn and Catherine (Columbia, South Carolina)
Here is a picture from our honeymoon at KBH in the last week of April into May. It exceeded all of our expectations! We really got the true feel of Hawaii and the culture. The staff was always friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the wheelchair accessible rooms and found it to be quite accessible. We didn’t want to leave and would love to come back. I can’t think of a better place to stay. Please extend our thanks to everyone.

Robert and Renee (San Diego, California)
We were just at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel the 3rd through the 10th of April. We brought our entire family and spent a glorious week with our new Ohana!! It was our first trip to Maui, and hopefully will not be our last. Everyone was so nice and helpful!! A special “Mahalo” to Alan in Guest Services, he was wonderful to our two young kids. We will be back!!

Janice and Bartholomew (Yorkshire, England)
We have just returned from our stay at the KBH at Maui and we would like to thank all the staff for making our holiday one of the best that we have ever had.

All the staff had permanent smiles on their faces that soon affected everybody in the hotel. We were a family group of 10 with ages ranging from 3 to 63 years. We all agreed that we would return to Maui and our first choice for accommodation would be the KBH.

Sergio and Katie (Phoenix, Arizona)
What an amazing trip. This was our 3rd visit to KBH (March 27-April 5, 2006). We had a wonderful time again. We loved looking at all the wonderful updates that the hotel had made. The Mixed Plate looks great, and we loved our daily breakfasts there. It makes our daily breakfasts at home look a little pitiful. The Tiki Grill and Bar remain favorites. We always look forward to a Lava Flow and Tiki Burger. The Ukulele lessons were lots of fun and as always we enjoyed lei making and other Hawaiian activities. Uncle Rudy always puts on a great show. This year we chose to go to the Kupanaha Magic Show. We had a great time and would highly recommend it. Much Mahalo to Mikala and Alan at guest services for their Hawaiian hospitality and help. We are already planning our return trip and are fondly recalling all our Maui memories!!

Rebecca and James (Alabaster, Alabama)
My husband and I just recently stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel on Maui for our Honeymoon. We decided upon this hotel because of the Romance Package and the Hawaiian values it offered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The people were friendly and very willing to answer any questions we had. Our room was gorgeous and the ocean view spectacular. The hotel landscaping was beautiful. We would like to thank you for helping to make our honeymoon in Maui the best we could have had!! The departing lei ceremony was a nice touch!! When we visit Maui again, we will definitely stay at KBH and we have already started recommending it to our friends and family.

Phillip and Lorraine (Atwater, California)
It had been ten years since we last visited your beautiful island, and could not imagine staying at any other hotel than the Kaanapali Beach. So, in February this year we were delighted to find that it had not changed one bit! It is still as friendly and welcoming as ever, and even our friend Rudy and his band were still playing for us as we danced every evening under the stars. We simply can’t wait to return again, and this time we are not going to wait ten years between visits!! Thank you for making our vacation so very memorable.

Manuela (Berkeley, California)
I just wanted to share that I just spent the most wonderful week in Maui at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. I first found out about this hotel though an Internet search last year when I made a trip in the fall of 2005. Needless to say, I could not wait a whole year to come back and spend the first week of April there at the KBH. It’s like coming home to see lots of family and friends. I love the fact that the faces are all familiar and that they promote such a wonderful welcoming attitude. They really want it to be like your own personal home away from home. Everything from knowing your name to the constant “aloha’s” from everyone including the friendly maids and landscapers make this a wonderful place. Everyone cares and delivers top-notch service to make it the best vacation possible. Some of my favorites are of course the fun crafts for all ages and the family-feel around the pool. Whether you want to read in solitude or strike up a conversation – it’s possible and readily available. I guess they attract the perfect combination of people. From the closeness of the drink bar to the Tiki Grill by the pool or just walking out of the door from my room to see and be on the beach made for the greatest of delights. And I can’t forget the nightly Hawaiian music and hula show!!! Oh my – I could go on but don’t want to take up all your time. Just want to say thank you for my wonderful time and I can’t wait until I can plan my next return trip.

Dave and Kay (N/A)
We take pleasure in writing our thoughts and feelings about our stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel in April of 06’. We've been fortunate to travel around the world and we can honestly say that KBH is the very best for us from check-in to checkout. The staff is the most knowledgeable and friendliest folks we've had the pleasure of staying with. The whole atmosphere is something everyone needs to see and enjoy. The food in the Tiki Terrace, Tiki Grill and Mixed Plate was very tasty. The entertainment was exceptional with Jody’s illusionist show. It was worth every moment and we would like to see it again. Rudy and his band were really a pleasure to see and listen to and you can't help but enjoy the hula dancers. Malihini is Guest Services was wonderful. The entire staff made us feel at home. We’re planning another trip back to see all of you again. This time we're bringing our six year old grandaughter with us. We know she will have a great time Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo for welcoming us into your ohana.

Michele and Ray (Pearl River, New York)
My husband and I stayed at your hotel in February for our honeymoon and had the best time. The hotel and grounds were beautifully kept. The staff was incredibly friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was so nice - we enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of the ocean every night. The welcome breakfast was wonderful. It was so nice to have a good laugh with Michael and learn about the beautiful island we were on. We enjoyed two delicious dinners and a breakfast at the Tiki Terrace. The service was outstanding. The bar service was also great; it was so nice to get served with a genuine smile and for them to remember what we were drinking!! We could go on and on with how much we enjoyed our stay. It brings a smile to our face whenever we think of our Maui Ohana! We are already planning our next trip back... Until we meet again...

Jake and Carol (Illinois)
In January we completed trip # 13 to the KBH and thoroughly enjoyed our visit again. We wouldn't stay any other place on the island. Our experience with all the staff at KBH brings us back each year. We can’t say enough about Malihini---a wonderful, lovely, friend who makes every visit a most enjoyable one. I've watched her as guests arrive and how she shares that Aloha spirit with each and every one, especially all those returnees like us. We feel like we have returned home when we visit. We wouldn't want you to change a thing about the hotel or the grounds. The courtyard is unbeatable! There's no place on the island quite like it. Thank you again for a wonderful visit, great food, exciting and wonderful nightly entertainment and especially for the staff!

Tom and Elaine (Indiana)
Aloha from Indiana!! Not quite the same as the beautiful beaches and warm sunshine that we recently enjoyed at your wonderful hotel. This was our second visit to Hawaii. We knew we had to stay at Kaanapali again. Five years ago we were treated like royal guests, as we were again this year. The staff took care of our every need and made us feel like we belonged to their ohana. The laid-back stress-free atmosphere really made this a relaxing vacation. We were pleasantly surprised to see Rudy is still singing and strumming his ukulele. We enjoyed winding down the day with the evening shows. Mahalo for a great vacation!!

Ron and Vicki (Minnesota)
What a wonderful place to spend your vacation. This is the first time we had gone on vacation and were not ready to come home. We were sad to see our trip end. Hope to be back again soon.

Terry and Joyce (Jasper, Indiana)
We stayed with you spring break 2006 and wanted to say how much we enjoyed our visit. We felt like family. We met some new employees and visited with some we met in 2003. We hope to be back soon and we will definitely stay at Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We will tell our friends to make sure they book with you if they ever plan a trip to Maui.

Ken and Nancy (Greenwood, Indiana)
My wife and I stayed at Kaanapali Beach Hotel the first week of March 2006. At the welcome breakfast we learned about the hotel, the island of Maui and the recommended attractions. We enjoyed the Feast at LeiLei, golfing at Kaanapali North Course, the Road to Hana with Temptation Tours and the Blue Hawaiian Helicopter ride. We also enjoyed the Pacific Whale Foundation’s Whale Tour, shopping at the Whalers Village and the Maui Mountain Cruiser’s Haleakala Summit to the Sea. We could see that everyone was having fun and loved what they were doing. That was evident during our whole stay at Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We were treated like ohana (family) and look forward to our next visit to Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Jean and Martyn (Bingley, England)
Thank you for giving us such a wonderful time in your hotel - we stayed with you recently in May and thought that your staff was so friendly and efficient. We had a good time, and particularly would like to thank Nani who gave my wife (who is disabled) confidence to ride in the wheelchair. She went out of her way to see that we both enjoyed ourselves. I think she went above and beyond her normal duties to ensure our stay with you was so wonderful. Hopefully we will be able to come back to stay with our ohana in Hawaii, and in the meantime…. MANY THANKS!

Michael and Erin (Lake Forest, California)
My wife and I went to the Kaanapali Beach Hotel last week. We had an awesome time there. The “Hometown Aloha” spirit was great there. We felt very comfortable, relaxed, and welcome. My wife and I spoke on the way home and decided that we will go the Kaanapali Beach Hotel for our vacations from now on. Thank you, Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Ken and Deborah (St. Petersburg, Florida)
My husband Ken and I thought you had a beautiful resort. The surroundings were beautiful and your warm and inviting staff members made us feel right at home. Our ocean front room was exactly what I imagined and more. I loved falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves on the shoreline. Our only regret was that we didn’t plan to stay longer! We hope to return with our children sometime in the near future.

Karen and Dan (Quebec, Canada)
My husband and I recently stayed at Kaanapali Beach Hotel for our second time. We have never been treated so well anywhere. We felt like family returning home. The staff could not do enough for us. Malihini Keahi-Heath has made a special place in our hearts. We would recommend your hotel to anyone.

Craig and Sham (Goldendale, Washington)
We are honeymooners who stayed at KBH for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. From the time we arrived in our car, the entire staff took great care of us at KBH. I recommend people to stay here because of the good location and it is a very friendly place to stay. The one thing I really, really loved was the turn down service at night with the cookies and orchid. It was so great to come back to our room in the evening. We didn't want to leave Hawaii! We plan to go back for our 5-year anniversary, so see you then!

Valerie (Hacienda Heights, California)
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel last year for a wedding. From the moment we walked on to the property we were just in awe of everything in sight. The hotel was everything I thought Hawaii would be. The grounds were gorgeous and the staff was friendly. This year when my family started to plan a Hawaiian vacation, I knew exactly that I wanted to return to the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Craig and Diane (Elkhart, Indiana)
My wife Diane and I first visited Maui in 1997 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel in an ocean view room overlooking the courtyard where we could easily see the ocean & whale shaped pool. We got to the hotel late that afternoon after flying in from Indiana and upon reaching our room we opened up our patio doors to pure heaven. The smell of the island itself was intoxicating and just below us in the courtyard a young Hawaiian native was walking through the courtyard lighting tiki torches along all the walkways. Shortly after we heard drums playing and looking out our patio again to find a nightly Hawaiian show, so we got dressed and went down to watch and being we were very hungry the hostess of the restaurant asked if she could help I guess she knows a tourist when she see’s one and we told her it was our first day ever in Maui and she asked did we want to eat as she had a special table waiting for us where we had a very close up of the show. Now we know it wasn’t being held for Craig & Diane but her kindness set the stage for what turned our to be the greatest time in both of our lives barring the birth of our 5-children.

Everyone and we mean everyone we met at KBH while we stayed was very friendly, some of them asked our names would even remember them and every time they seen us they would call us by our first names, try that at one of those big Hotels, that made us feel like family and not just a guest. We went back to Maui in 2002 to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and brought another couple with us and they enjoyed it every bit as much as we did and our second time we just as great as the first. My wife cried both times when leaving, she says this is what heaven must be like, it’s the most relaxing place in the world. We will be celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary next September 16th and I asked Diane where she wanted to go and without hesitation she said where going back to Kaanapali Beach Hotel only this time we are bring all of our children and several friends as she has this idea of renewing our vows, definitely and women’s thing, now why can’t we do that on the golf course? See you in September 2007 for what is shaping up to be our best time ever celebrating in Maui with family & friends it just doesn’t get any better than that.

Jerry (Lewiston, New York)
My wife and I just spent 5 days at your hotel last week for our honeymoon. All I can say is that we really had a great time at your hotel. Unlike the other hotels in the area, I felt right at home at your hotel. We both really liked the small touches so to say (champagne greeting, notes, and cookies on the bed). Also, we were surprised that we were presented a lei at our departure. These leis will definitely be meaningful to the both of us. Since I’m in the marketing field too, I will definitely highly recommend to people to stay at your hotel if they visit Maui. I hope that my wife and I will get a chance in the future to patronize your hotel again. Again, thank you for making my wife’s and my honeymoon a memorable one.

Andrew and Mrs. (United Kingdom, England)
Just to say we have just had the trip of a lifetime. We stayed at the KBH for 9 nights in June. Can’t fault the place and its location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We couldn’t of asked for a better honeymoon. We will return for our Silver anniversary.

Jim & Tona (Las Vegas, Nevada)
We thank you again for such a wonderful vacation. This was our 4th stay at KBH. Jim works very hard & puts in many hours. When we get to Maui & the KBH he gets into a relax mode that I have never seen before. It’s wonderful. Your staff & especially Mikala treat us as if we are truly part of your ohana. I wish that the world would show the “Aloha spirit” that your employees show. It would be a world filled with kindness. We dream about the day that we will return. Until then, you are in our hearts.... Aloha

Beth (Dallas, Texas)
What a wonderful first visit to Maui! I greatly enjoyed the time I spent at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel in May. It truly is like no other hotel experience in Hawaii or anywhere else for that matter. I loved the retro feel with the modern attention to detail. It lived up to what I have always envisioned the true, “old” Hawaiian spirit to be. We especially enjoyed the entertaining evenings with Rudy Akino and his band. Such great music and laughter to accompany the fantastic weather!

Cheryl (Ontario, Canada)
Aloha from Ontario, Canada! We’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel three times over the years, and it’s always the first place that comes to our minds when we have the opportunity to plan a trip. Last March we took our first cruise, and when we were tendered to shore at Lahaina, the first thing we did was grab a cab and go down to the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We had a drink at the Tiki Hut and wandered through the lobby. It felt like home! Later, while sitting on the waterfront, we decided the next vacation would be three full weeks in Maui. And that’s exactly what we’ve just arranged. We arrive December 27th (what a Christmas gift!) and we’ll be there for three full weeks. We rave so much about your wonderful resort, that when our long time friends heard we’d booked another Maui vacation, they said “Do we even have to ask where you’re staying?” It wouldn’t be a Hawaiian vacation if we didn’t stay at the Kaanapali Beach Resort.

The Kaanapali Beach Hotel makes it easy for us to be ambassadors for them. It’s such a wonderful place. Incredible gardens, lovely rooms, great food, amazing staff ... there is so much to say. Mahalo everyone at your resort for continuing to make the Kaanapali Beach Hotel one of the best places to stay. We’ll see you on December 27th when we can say a belated Mele Kalikimaka!

Elaine (Broken Arrow, Oklahoma)
We had the incredible pleasure to visit Maui for the second time in five years. Again, we chose to stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. It was a wonderful experience. We felt as though we came home to family. The staff is so knowledgeable about the islands and their history. They were very helpful in planning our activities and excursions. We enjoyed Rudy and the nightly shows. If the opportunity arises to return to your beautiful island, the KBH will definitely be our destination. Mahalo for a wonderful experience!!

Joseph and Amanda, Max and Lois (Spring Branch, Texas)
We had a wonderful time at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. It is our favorite hotel in Hawaii! We celebrated my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary, our 23rd and my daughters 17th birthday two years ago -- and the family insisted that the Kaanapali was the place for the anniversaries and birthday this year. We truly enjoy all the Hawaiian activities at the hotel and we loved the wonderful Hawaiian stories told by your guest service agent Mikala Nolan. He was wonderful as was the rest of your staff. The accommodations were wonderful! We came home with our Kukui nut necklaces with the one white bead. Next year we will have two!

Josie (Berkeley, California)
I have stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel twice and it will be my hotel choice for future visits! In addition to being the perfect location, everyone is so helpful and friendly. It has a real family atmosphere. In fact, when I arrived the second time, I was personally remembered with a wonderful greeting! It’s like home away from home.

The crafts are a very special added touch, which us adults really enjoy - Who ever said crafts are for kids? The history that is shared with your guests adds to the memories. Thanks for making my visits very special. I have shared my experiences with several people. Your hotel is a rainbow to me (and I love rainbows).

Ken and Michelle (Gold Canyon, Arizona)
We would like to say thank you for your hospitality during our mini crisis. Graciously, your hotel put us up for a night when our airline cancelled our flight. Your staff went out of their way to make us welcome and comfortable for the day until we could get another flight out. We give a special thank you to Rance Villarimo who went out of his way to help us. Your hotel is lovely and all the amenities made our stay most pleasant. Our next trip to Maui will be spent at your hotel on Kaanapali Beach and we will certainly recommend your hotel to friends. We have enclosed a sunset picture from our stay at KBH. Thank you so much.

Laura, Tom, Brenden, and Sarah (Colma, California)
We just got back from a two-week vacation with our children at your hotel. We had such a wonderful time and can hardly wait to return next summer. As I quote my son “it was the best vacation of my life”. We felt so welcomed and part of the Kaanapali Beach Hotel family. Alan, Malihina, Mikala, Rance, Jeff, Edward, and Virgie especially impressed us. They should all be commended. Each and every one of them went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay comfortable and memorable. We were spoiled and thankful for the fruit platters, candy, and the nightly turn down service with cookies and flowers on our beds. My children thought it was the best treat. We have shared our stay with all of our friends and family and look forward to our return to your hotel. Mahalo and god bless. Ps. Mr. White, thank you for giving my family the opportunity to meet you and view your special book.

Thank you so much for making our trip to Maui July 18-27, 2006 such a wonderful experience. We had stayed at the Westin and the Sheraton in the past and your hospitality and Hawaiian charm far surpassed anywhere we have ever stayed. This was my seven-year-old daughter’s first trip to Maui. Your children’s passport program and free classes were the highlight of her trip. She tells everyone about the nice “hula lady” from the front desk that taught her sand art and hula dancing. The free welcome breakfast and presentation on things to do while in Maui was very helpful in planning our week. We loved the Kupanaha Magic Dinner Show. Of all of the restaurants we tried on the island the Tiki Restaurant was our favorite. I am glad I chose the Kaanapali Beach Hotel from your web site and your advertisement in the Family Fun Magazine. Thanks again for making our vacation so memorable. We will definitely recommend you to our friends and we will be back again.

Dear KBH, Thank you so much for having us during our extended honeymoon stay on Maui in May of 2006. We absolutely loved the friendly and helpful staff, the relaxed atmosphere, the beautiful views and the delicious food. We could not have asked for a more romantic, yet adventurous and lovely honeymoon as the one we had in Hawaii. We enjoyed our tour of Maui so much more then another island in large part because of your tranquil hotel. We thank you kindly and we do plan to return in the coming years to celebrate our wedding anniversaries!

Mark (Brighton, Massachusetts)
I was at your hotel in Feb. 2005 and it was my first trip to your hotel as well as Hawaii, Maui. It really is paradise and everybody should go at least once if not more. As for my stay at the hotel it was very enjoyable. The staff was friendly and courteous as well as helpful for booking daily events. I also liked when I spoke Hawaiian, which was very little and they would answer back and smile. I look forward to going back in 2007.

Rick (Brighton, Massachusetts)
This was my second time to KBH with my family. This trip was to celebrate my 50th Birthday. What a trip! The staff at KBH is outstanding. They pay special attention to each and every guest. I have never been treated so personally at a resort. This has certainly become a repeat event for my family.

Kelly (Minnetonka, Minnesota)
Aloha, We just returned from our honeymoon at KBH and we could not have hand picked a better time. The staff was so very friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast every morning. The location of KBH was outstanding, far outdoing any other hotel on the beach. Keep up the wonderful service. You will definitely see us again. Thank you for the wonderful time in Maui.

Michael and Erin (Lake Forest, California)
My wife and I went to the Kaanapali Beach Hotel last week. We had an awesome time there. The “Hometown Aloha” spirit was great there. We felt very comfortable, relaxed and welcome there. My wife and I spoke on the way home, and decided that we will go the Kaanapali Beach Hotel from now on. Thank you Kaanapali Beach Hotel!

Ken and Dave (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania)
Aloha, I just wanted to let you know that we had a great time at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We were there in May 2006 and were greeted by everyone that we came in contact with. Your staff was very friendly and very helpful. I have been to Hawaii two other times before, but the other person that I came with had never experienced Hawaii before. They we very impressed with Maui and how friendly everyone there was. So much so, that they can’t wait to come back again.

Every morning it was nice to wake up to a spectacular view off or balcony. The view from your hotel was breath taking and beautiful. We felt as if we were in heaven. The sunrise and sunsets were wonderful, nothing like home in Philadelphia, Pa. The weather was nice and warm. We had a great time; there was plenty to do and to see. Your staff was able to point us in the right direction to all that Maui had to offer. Alan, one of your staff members was helpful to ensure we had a great time at the Kaanapali. We would just like to say “Mahalo” to Alan. And we would also like to say “Mahalo” to the rest of the staff for making our trip the memory we’ll never forget. We have been telling everyone we know to come to Maui and stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel.

Frank and Michele (Lynnwood, Washington)
Thank you so much for your warm and friendly service. We have stayed at your hotel a total of four times now and have enjoyed every visit. We would not think of staying any place else in Maui. Your staff made us feel like part of the KBH family and more than just guest. We hope to see you many more times in the future.

Chris and Don (Santa Cruz, California)
Our favorite vacation spot is the KBH! We loved the balcony where we could listen to Rudy sing each night. We have received attentive service in both restaurants and at the bar. Alan in Guest Service was great at taking care of our needs. And the best dive and snorkeling spot is Black Rock just a short walk down the beach. Another short walk was to Whalers Village, for good shopping and eating. We eagerly await our next visit.

Jim and Jonelle (Darien, Illinois)
Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know what a wonderful time we had at your hotel. I brought my wife, our 2 kids, my parents and my mother-in-law. We loved all of the fun activities, the laid back atmosphere, the outstanding service and friendly staff, especially Alan Caban. We look forward to seeing you all again on our next visit.

Debbie & Jerry (Tipton, Indiana)
Aloha! My husband and I just returned home after spending 11 nights in one of your oceanfront rooms. The view was magnificent! We took pictures from our lanai of several dolphins swimming, green sea turtles surfacing, and we saw one seal swimming but didn’t get his picture in time. We loved watching the sun work it’s way across the island of Lanai as it came up, and the sunsets were stunning. We enjoyed watching the lighting of the torches and the ceremony of the man who then jumps off of Black Rock. The nightly hula was very enjoyable, as was listening to Rudy and the rest of the musicians. Of course we loved relaxing with Dale at the Tiki Bar. All the bartenders were very enjoyable and the whole atmosphere with the employees as well as the other guests made it seem as if you were at a family gathering. The employees all made us feel like family (ohana). They all spoke to us, asked us how we were doing, and just made you feel like they had known you all your life.

We were celebrating our 5th anniversary, but it also was Mother’s Day 2006, our first full day there. What a glorious way to spend Mother’s Day, watching the ocean waves crashing on the beach. We loved walking on the beach, taking the beachfront walkway to the Whalers Village for shopping, and the museum at the Whalers Village was very informative. So many activities going on at or near the hotel, there were days we didn't even need our rental car. We loved the closeness of Lahaina and especially enjoyed Front Street. The shopping was exceptional and the Banyan Tree Park was wonderful. The Festival of Canoes was going on while we were there and we loved seeing the crafts of the local artists displayed. What talented artists! We hated to leave. We spent 3 nights on Oahu after leaving Kaanapali Beach Hotel, but we did not enjoy it like we did Maui. There were too many people, way too much traffic, and we missed the ohana atmosphere of the hotel.

The kukui nut lei ceremony was a very touching moment upon departure, and it will never be forgotten. I guarantee we will be staying with your hotel in the future!

Kevin and Susan (Danville, Virginia)
Aloha! I am writing to tell you all that I now miss the KBH family in Maui. This was our first visit to Maui and we were not sure where to stay. Our travel agent could not have picked a better place. The people at KBH are wonderful. I was made to feel like one of the family at the KBH hotel. I have never felt before at other hotels. My thanks to all of you, for this was my first big trip away from home and you all made it so nice.

We will be back someday and will be staying in the KBH. I look forward to seeing my other family.... A warm hello to “Mary” and everyone else.

Stuart & Laura (Belfast, Northern Ireland)
As I sit listening to LANUI on CD I realize it’s been nearly a year since my wife and I stayed at the hotel and we haven’t stop talking about it yet. Visiting Maui was one of the most amazing and relaxing holidays we have ever experienced. The food and room was great and the staff was amazing and so friendly. One word sums up the staff’s professionalism and dedication...”PERFECT” I hope it never changes. Thanks Alan and everyone else from the bottom of our hearts. It made our Honeymoon unbeatable. We plan to come back and do it all again.

James and Traci (North Hollywood, California)
This hotel was definitely true to its initial billing. It fosters its Hawaiian roots with live music and dance. KBH also has a great staff. Alan Caban befriended us one day and gave us amazing information on driving directions, restaurants and more. Alan was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Again, from the maintenance workers to the guest agents, everyone is quick to shoot over a smile, a “good morning” or a proverbial “Mahalo!” We definitely plan on coming back in the near future. On the flipside, if I did have one complaint (and I only had one) it was that Room 131 of the hotel's north end is extremely loud and should be converted to an exercise room. The room is right next to the unit’s staircase (there is no elevator) and at all hours of the day you hear people “checking out of their hotel”, so to speak. You hear “boom, boom” as people bounce their suitcases down the staircase. But, we’re from L.A. so noise isn’t all that new to us. We just didn’t want it during our 8-day honeymoon stay. Other than that, we absolutely loved the place and will definitely recommend it to others! Mahalo KBH!

Santino and Sherir (Santa Maria, California)
We took our first trip to Maui just last month, and really enjoyed our stay at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. We traveled with our friends and children, and we all had a wonderful time. Our hotel rooms were great and gave us direct access to both the pool and beach! Hotel staff was awesome, and always eager to please. We would definitely recommend your hotel to all our friends, and hope to visit again someday ourselves. Kaanapali Resort area is lined with great hotels and beautiful beaches, so there is always a lot to do.

Deborah and Earl (Phoenix, Arizona)
We had a wonderful time just relaxing in between snorkeling and watching your magic show. It was our second anniversary after being married on Maui originally. We put together a special beach meal one night just to remember our wedding at sunset. We also took our CD player with us and played music as we took pictures of the sun setting and ate. Our last day was special in that we discovered the fun of weaving, making paperweights, and learning to play the ukulele.

Frank and Janis, Rebecca, Janis and Jamie (Tracy, Califronia)
We stayed with you on August 22nd through 29th of 2006. We had an amazing time and you all made it very special. My daughter Kady, who turned 16 on the 25th there, was recently diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and had been very ill since February. We decided to come to Hawaii for her birthday to celebrate her beginning to return to good health. Your hotel and staff was the best medicine in the world! We had such a wonderful time and loved everyone who worked there who we had the pleasure of meeting. We can’t wait to come back and hope we will be able to return very soon. I wrote a review for trip advisor and am forwarding it to you. The best way I can think of thanking you, is to tell others about our experience. I want to thank you again for everything. You will never know how much we loved staying with you!

(Janis’ Trip Advisor Comments)
This hotel truly is “the most Hawaiian hotel”. The people are wonderful and friendly. There is an orientation breakfast the first day that is not only fun and informative but also has a wonderful breakfast! The staff was super helpful in booking day trips and outings and by day two, you feel like you just got home when you arrive after a day of “doing Hawaii”.

I read that the pool was small and I suppose it is compared to the monstrosities of other hotels but we loved it. The food is great, the grounds are immaculate and the rooms were cleaned well. We stayed in the Molokai tower for 6 days then we were supposed to go home but just couldn’t bring ourselves to leave so we booked 2 more days! Then we were in the newer section and it was a bit nicer but still the same great service and care.

They have a going away ceremony that is very touching and you really feel like you are leaving friends behind. We will stay at this hotel any time we go back to Maui. We loved the people and the place so much. The valet guys are wonderful too! We even brought them pizza one night! They know all the best places for everything and really made our trip a blast!

If you want a nice, friendly hotel that is clean, with great food and sincere, hard working people, this is place for you! If you want to be lost in the crowds and the shine of a glossy hotel, go somewhere else. Here, it is family. There, you are just another face.

I just wanted to say that we had an excellent time last week (Sept 9-16th) at your hotel. The room was very nice & clean, the atmosphere there was great, the food was good, your staff was friendly & courteous and your location is perfect.

WE SHALL RETURN!!

Nicole (North Hollywood, California)
My husband and I stayed at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel for our “baby-moon” and had a wonderful time. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful in finding us “easy going” activities that even I could do. They even arranged a pastor for a last minute vow renewal. We are definitely coming back!

We had an amazing time at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. Our five day stay was spectacular. We were impressed with the staff and our accommodations. The nightly show was such a treat! We look forward to returning in the near future!

Barry and Anne (Essex, Vermont)
What a great place for families! Our daughters were thrilled with the location on the beach, the daily activities such as lei making, bamboo bookmarks and their KBH Passport. They also enjoyed the fantastic nightly entertainment. It wasn’t until we traveled to other hotels on the other islands that we really understood how unique the Kaanapali Beach Hotel is. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the Hawaiian culture throughout the hotel is truly special. Give Alan Caban and Malihini our biggest thanks for all their help and genuine Hawaiian hospitality. I have included a photo of our two girls with their handmade leis from KBH.
